[pchelpers] RPC service terminated unexpectedly

A user with an XP system has been getting the above message which is
followed by windows closing down. We both thought it might be a virus,
but I just ran a cleanup program to eliminate the most likely types.
Possibly XP has a fault. Anyone got suggestions?
