Look down at the bottom of this message (and all other PCHelpers
messages) for the links. The one that you want is "Freelists login".
After you log no, select PCHelpers, click the Change Settings button,
and set yourself to Vacation. You may instead want to set the Digest
option, so that you only receive a group of messages in one email
(once a day, I think).

You'll have to go to http://www.freelists.org/archives/pchelpers to
read, though, and it's NOT designed to be terribly convenient. Try it
out before you change to vacation mode. John may be able to suggest a
better way to do this.

If you check email at least once a week or so, you are unlikely to get
anywhere near your limit, unless people have a habit of sending you
huge files. Nowadays, most people would need to get thousands of
emails (without large attachments) to get near the limit. Your ISP can
tell you what your limit is.

I have in the past gone off for 3 weeks, and not had problems -- and I
get a LOT of email (most I just get and save for future reference).

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
