Kathleen, I am so sorry to get back to you so late . To be able to use
HijackFree, you have to first set up an account with your email address.
They will send you a password in your email. Beforer you can start using it,
the system will take you to update, where your password is also validated.
I love that utility and use it since a couple of years. You get so much
helpful information about your computer, it even tells you which ports are open
so you can check which one you need to close.
The company has also another utility that will look at your system and tell
you exactly what you have running, you can click on different areas. To use the
scanner on this one, you don't need to be connected to the internet.
