Hi Ray
I take it you're using Windows 98? You're getting the
password prompt because you specified a Windows logon
password when you were installing the OS. If you don't
wish to login with a password, then you leave that
blank.(In WinNT and Win2000 you can configure
automatic logon)
To disable this dialog box, at your desktop right
click My Network Neighborhood
-->properties-->Configuration tab. Select Windows
Logon from the Primary Login menu, then Ok. When
prompted, do not restart your computer. Go to Control
Panel, double click on Password, User Profile tab and
select "All users of this computer use the same
preferences and Desktop settings". Click change
password tab. Key in your present password. Leave the
New Password box and Confirm password box blank. Click
ok. When prompted reboot.
You won't be bothered with the dialog box the next
time you boot up your box.
Hope that helps.
Regards
Tonia
