Hi Inge,
I usually write PDF files to CDs. I use Nero to burn
my CDs. There are a few things I think you should do
before burning your files. 
   1. Put your files in a folder 
   2. Zip your files 
   3. Convert your files to word.. there are a bunch
of pdf to word converters in the net. You can download
one.. I advise "PDF2Word" I downloades this app and
it's working just fine. The first two are things I
usually do.. Even for easy locating purposes,
organizing files in zips or folders is a good idea.. I
think.
