I use Outlook Express. When I click on Tools, then click on Account ...
Properties of the found account, I find a box which gives me the choice of
using this account for receiving mail or synchronizing. Is this an option you
have too?

I still think if you looked around in your settings you will find the option
to have
it 'not check mail'. It has to be in there somewhere. (I use Outlook
Express.)

Okay, if I can't get Outlook '97 to leave my email alone to OE then what
about this;
I'll delete Outlook & use another Calendar that will sync w/my iPaq PDA as a
stand alone.
Waddya think?
