The older computers had two different cpus. They first came out=0D
with your Pentium class cpus. Then they added the MMX to the=0D
later ones. (Mainly Intel and AMD)=0D
The PCI modem that you got is a software modem. Meaning that =0D
it runs with software and your computer hardware. I would bet that=0D
if you look at the specs it would say you need a cpu with MMX.=0D
 =0D
What you need is a hardware modem, meaning all the hardware=0D
needed is on the modem itself. In other words you need a ISA modem=0D
with jumpers. These are very hard to find now adays.=0D
 =0D
But it so happens that I have a box of used ISA 56K jumpered USR=0D
modems. Are in interested in one?=0D
