That is what happened to me.  Office 2K.  And every day I was having to do
some update or something was not working right please put in the CD and
repair.  Forget the exact message as it was @3 months ago.  No problems till
I did the Updates.  Did it about ten times and then said 'forget it', backed
up and formatted.  No problems now without them, but to be honest all I use
is Word and not a lot.  So I can get along with out patches that others
might need.
