[pchelpers] Re: Outllok

Net servers these day have to have Spam filters, these Spam filters and
servers have a need to delay e-mail functions.

Even when you own the server you can only query the server so many times
within a prescribed amount of time, it is not so controllable when you are
one of many using the server.

I hate to say it but you need to slow it down! If you check every 30 seconds
it is borderline even if you own the server and set the dwell time to the
shortest time

This may or may not be Your problem, it is "A" problem for guys like me who
have a spam Killer on my computer that is checking, then my Outlook is
checking. I had to have these check every 2 minutes instead of 1 minute to
solve my problem.

Subject: [pchelpers] Outllok

I have a problem with Outllok XP being very tetchy with Send/Receive.
It works OK if I start Outlook fresh, wait for a minute for everything =
to
settle down, then Click on Send/Receive.
If I do it too soon, or after the successful Send/Receive try a second
Send/Receive it always hangs and eventually
Times out. Have to quite and re-run Outlook and wait a minute, then is =
OK.
Going into accounts and clicking on the test account function always =
passes,
and the utility to check the PST file
(scanpst) reports no errors.

OS is XP Pro.

Any ideas out there what to try?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
