haha on Yahoo. I went to answer the "norton post" and popped up here on Yahoo 
mail.  What a glitch that is and it's not the first time that it happened.  I 
was on the Norton post and clicked on reply and voila.  The comment was to be, 
and please excuse me for typing it here, that at one time there was a warning 
to never have Norton and McAfee on the same pc.

In addition to what John says, note that you can't keep a connection
while hibernating; your computer is off while in hibernation mode.

Go to Network Connections (in Control Panel), right-click on the icon
for your network connection, select Properties, and put a checkmark
in the box for "show icon in notification area when connected".

Then, when you return from hibernation or standby, you can right-click
on the icon in the lower-right corner of the screen and select
"Repair", which *should* fix the connection, if John's suggestion
doesn't help.
