There are sayings in all languages that talk about objects, concepts, 
units of measurement, and many other things that no longer exist, are no 
longer used, or are not comprehensible anymore. Only in the last case 
are they sometimes changed, and then unknowingly, inadvertently. 
Expressions like "just my two eurocents" are usually used by non-native 
speakers who don't have a feel for the language and don't realise that 
this sort of expression does not normally change (except as a joke of 
course).

Since the US still uses the completely outdated measurement system that 
was abolished in most countries decades ago, there are only few English 
sayings in use that use measurement units that are outdated even in the 
US, but i remember hearing about at least two (which i can't remember now).

Yes, i was trying to give a strong hint to put something informative and 
pert there that will save helpers a lot of time by being easy to link to 
instead of requiring constant repetition...

I don't know anything about it and don't know if it's the same thing; i 
just heard about it.
