Net cards IF you don't have them, most all new computers have them already,
are about $20 US apiece.  CAT5 cable is about $.30  a foot or about $7.50
US.  You will need ends at maybe a couple of bucks.  We would probably just
give you two, so look for a friend.  That is going to be the cheapest way to
go and all you NEED.

Now I do like a router and encourage it as the way to go for ease of setup
and further growth.

As to wireless, My research, and you should research, shows that the stats
are like printer stats.  The claims and the reality are often far apart.  A
customer of ours put one in his new house, on the bottom floor, and the
connection on the second floor, HE said, is less than 50 percent.  He hates
it.  It is much slower than wire.  Now it might work perfect for where and
what you want but if it doesn't then the expense doubles.
