[pchelpers] News:Silicon Valley Disrupted -- and Hackers Didn't Do It

Telecommunications in Silicon Valley were disrupted, and it had nothing
to do with hackers. Vandals clipped thick AT&T fiber-optic cables to
take out landline phones, wireless services and broadband Internet for
tens of thousands of customers. While services were restored, the
incident showed infrastructure systems are vulnerable.
