(CBC) - Criminals are setting up MySpace phishing sites in a bid to
circumvent the popular online community's anti-spam measures, security
researchers say.
Internet and computer security software maker McAfee Inc. said it has
discovered several sites this week that mimic front pages for News
Corp.-owned MySpace.com, where people sign into their accounts with
their usernames and passwords.
"There isn't really any sensitive information like credit card or bank
account details stored in the accounts, so what are the phishers
phishing for?" researcher Kevin McGhee wrote in a post to the McAfee
Avert Labs blog on Monday.
