[pchelpers] News:Microsoft to offer free anti-virus software

Microsoft will stop selling its OneCare anti-virus software on June 30,
the company said Tuesday.

Instead, it will give away new software, called Morro, that will protect
against viruses, spyware, rootkits and Trojans but will shed older
features like printer sharing that Microsoft has decided are too bulky
for "low-bandwidth scenarios or less powerful PCs."

Since Morro only works on Microsoft's newer operating systems--Windows
XP, Vista or 7--which don't run well in low-bandwidth scenarios or on
less powerful PCs, it's not clear how much impact Morro will have in
cleaning up the Internet.
