[pchelpers] Nero burning rom

I bought an Acer cd re-writer and it came with Nero version 5.

Nero is giving me trouble!  When I installed it, it found my cd writer fine.  
When I try to write a cd, nero won't allow me to write because it thinks there 
is no cd writer.  When I click on "choose a recorder-driver" my cd writer is 
not in the list.

If I shut down, turn off the power, restart the computer, then nero allows me 
to choose my cd writer.  So I create a new compilation (or open an existing 
one), put a blank cd in the drive, select "burn" and then the rotten thing asks 
me to select a cd writer, and guess what, there is no cd writer in the list!!!  
Nero has decided to prevent me from writing cd's and it seems to do this every 
time I create or open a compilation.

Help!!
