I would look at two things. I have a OptoRite 52x cd burner. It will not
burn using 52x Memorex cds.
Even my OptoRite DVD burner will not burn a 52x Memorex cd. They both
give me those same error
messages that you got. So try another brand of cd and see what happens.
Oh yes, I was using Nero 6 at the time.

Then take a look at your ASPI layer. This is the software drivers that
is between your cd-drive and your OS.
I have a ASPI checker that will look at your ASPI layer and tell you if
it is installed right. If Not I have the ASPI
installer that will force install the newest ASPI drivers..
If these drivers is not installed right it can cause all kinds of
intermittent problems. And most computers do not have
this layer right.

Let me know if you need them. They are both small and comes with txt
instructions for use.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
