I had the same thought, how can she switch? But, there is not enough
information to determine depth or distance; there is no obvious change
in size or color; it is solid black and completely two-dimensional.
Thus, you can't tell if her toe is headed toward you or away from you;
your brain is picking for you. Watch the toe and think of it going in
front instead of behind, or vice versa.

I did notice (after a while) that there is enough detail to determine
that she's apparently not wearing anything. I also noticed that
there's a shadow on the ground, and she seems to be floating at
varying heights, and apparently slightly tilted. I suspect that the
apparent tilt may be influencing some people. I also wonder what
proportion of men and women see her change and how long it generally
takes, and if the numbers would be different if the dancer were male.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
