They probably mean a DNS server.
I suspect that you let your current host change the settings at the
domain registry for you. You should be able to see the current
settings for your domain.

This will probably happen if you don't have a DNS server. I'm not
clear on the distinction between the domain registrar and a DNS
server. You should talk to someone who has done this before, before
trying to switch over.
