Hmm, is computer turned on?? :)  No, never mind, don't need you
getting killed. :)

I think something was mentioned about wireless mice earlier. I don't
think they're especially reliable at present. he may need to play with
the sync buttons on the bottom of the mouse and the receiver.

The mouse, of course, could be bad.

If she did not see the hardware installation messages when she plugged
in the receiver the first time, then there may be a problem with
either the receiver or the USB port that she used.  Have her move the
receiver to another port; she should see the hardware installation
messages once for each port.
