[pchelpers] Re: My PC Is Trying To Phone Napster

Hi All

Two great utilities for tracking down errant connections is "TCPView"
and "CurrPorts" from www.sysinternals.com and www.nirsoft.net
respectively.
With the offending program running, start up TCPView and check which
process is trying to make an unauthorized connection. Boot into safe
mode and rename that EXE/DLL file and that should fix it. TCPView also
allows you to close the offending connection or end that particular
process.
Currports is great for looking at a system and finding out which
programs/processes are sitting idle waiting for a connection to the
internet.
Anyone else have anything to add/correct?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
