BlankPC,

Your suggesting of the editing program is something I am looking for at =
this time.
I have no plans to get into editing "big time", nor obtaining any of the =
"big time"
editing programs. I want to fish a bit before going into serious =
software, but less
than "big time".

I mentioned in a post that my problem in burning was solved. The =
solution really came
about when I remembered your comments about how burning appeared to take =
up
lots of the resources. Here is a portion of the email you posted.

"I have seen this happens many times, in all OSs. Sometimes when you=20
place the DVD (or cd) into the drive everything stops working. It is =
like the
system is spending all it resources trying to read the disk and there =
isn't
anything left to do anything else- - - - - - -"

I have continued to use the DVDInPro software that was free. As I =
stated it
does lots of things, among them, formatting a disc. It is working =
fine now
that I am being careful about the sequence of events of inserting a =
blank disc,
opening DVInPro, then being patient as I have found that it is computer =
time
consuming in reading, changing, etc, 4gb on a small piece of plastic. =
 I would look
into my windows task master to find that the program was non-responsive, =
then
I would click out. Finally, I found my patience, gave the program time =
to do it's job,
then "Shazam", it responded.

I am going to look into the editing program you suggested. My hope is =
that it will handle
large clips at a time as all I want to do at this time is to remove from =
my camcorder tapes
the pictures of the floor and ceiling.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
