So it appears in your case that if one bad link is spotted the whole 
page is blocked? It may work for you, but in this case it can prevent 
you from seeing some good content as well because a suspect advert is on 
the page. Hosts file blocking appears to only block the bad content from 
web pages. You still get to see the good stuff.
