This NEC was advertised that it could be used by a Mac as well as a
PC. I think you figured out why it looks different from other PC-only
monitors I've seen!

That's a very good idea! I always try to keep all original software
and cables with the hardware. A perfectly usable piece of equipment
can be rendered totally useless, because of the lack of some small
thing you can't get anymore. I hate to see something useful go to
waste.
