Thank you so much for your suggestions, John!! Something worked. I'm
not totally sure which thing, but I'm very grateful!
I have another desktop that is working well, so I hooked up that
monitor to the older computer and it worked just fine, so I shut it
off again. Next I turned the older monitor on by itself, as you
suggested. I pressed a "reset" button and a "BNC-D-sub" button on the
monitor. I know I tried "reset" before, but I hadn't pressed that
D-sub button, so maybe that's what did it. Because of the way the
cable is configured, in order to plug the monitor into the video card
(which I knew I had to do after what you said), I had to plug the
other end of the cord into the socket at the back of the monitor that
said D-Sub connectors. I'd tried doing it that way before, but hadn't
pressed the button before. Maybe that's what it needed? After that,
I booted it up, and joy, joy, joy, the picture came on!
Thanks again!
Kehrin :)
