I cannot remember needing a password for many Microsoft services. It 
might be connected with online chat services where you would need one to 
log on. Aside from that, I tested the link.
The IP it came from was: 65.54.183.239 (its link to windows live site). 
The site carried an MSN badge. If you didn't request this, it would be 
wise to treat with caution. Note: The site claimed the link had expired.
