It was difficult to find any applicable information on this case. The 
nearest I have was here:

Only partially relevant I grant you, but the suggestion of a corrupt 
file may be significant. Therefore, to deal with that possibility, why 
not run system file checker?
SFC /SCANNOW
at the command prompt (using your CD in the drive) may correct the 
damage. If that isn't it, the I would consider whether there is an 
infection at work.
