I got a strange query today. Woman had aPC built privately and it has XP pro on
it and today she got an update request and so she did just as she has for the
past 18 months. This time however, it informs her that she may have an illegal
copy and no further updates are available. Now she isn't worried about whether
it is legal or not, it works and she paid to have the PC built. what she is
concerned about is the pop up every tine she boots telling her she may have an
illegal copy. She wants to know how she rids herself of it. She went into
add/remove programs and deleted the relevant things from the reg, but the
warning came up and told her that the pop up would still work. She's ran A2d
and Addaware etc. So how does she get rid of this annoyance?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
