[pchelpers] Re: Messanger service

I'm trying to remember, but I'm pretty sure Windows xp installs a 'Windows
Messenger' program. (Not to be comfused with MSN messenger.)
Obviously it is in your start up menu, so he would want to stop it from
being in startup. To do that, go to start, and where it says 'run' - type
in msconfig - then click ok. A box comes up and up at the top you will see
'startup'. Look for it in there and uncheck the program.
And you can always just delete that program.

I hope that helps.

What can he do to stop this? We have AVG anti virus, the router has a nat
fire wall and he runs regular updates of adware, is it possible to turn off
this messenger service or has he got to take a hammer to the pc? lol

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
