You are right there. Not only does McAfee have it's own problem, but the 
recuring annual costs really don't justify the lack of full protection your pc 
should be getting.  Although I don't like everything about Microsoft and the AV 
that comes with XP, I've never had an intrusion that could get by it's firewall.

I think McAfee (personal opinion) next to Norton is the worst VP you can 
get.
I see around 5 computers a week with viruses and McAfee and Norton is 
sitting there
doing nothing. With the owners permission I rip them out and replace it 
with AVG.
I had a few where I had to turn off Norton and McAfee, install AVG and 
clean the drive
and then uninstall AVG and turn them back on cause the owners just love 
them. I expect to see them back
soon.
