    It has been happening for about a week.  I can see at the bottom of the
screen where it indicates the images it is pickg up to provide a composite.
It always stops at the point where it indicates (1) left , sits there for a
period of time and then either throws the 'red star' on the screen or the
word 'map'.

Jo, in IE I found the manage add-ons  and there are about ten or so in there
all enabled, nothing that is not enabled.  None of them seem to relate to
the Mapquest web page.

   It is possible that the site is just so slow in bringing up the map that
it is timing out or something. I have never had the problem before the past
week or two. The only major program that I have added is the DellPDA
software.  I would not like to have to restore to a prior recovery point
even if there is still one available.  My access to the Internet is DSL and
it is normally very fast. Just seem to have trouble with the Mapquest page.
