Browsers don't block sites; instead, browsers are blocked by firewalls
and other programs and hosts files etc.

I guess you mean "allow all traffic" not just "allow"? This is getting
very interesting; what sites are blocked when you set Sygate to allow
all traffic? Do you have a hosts file? Do you have the free version of
Sygate or the pay version?

Probably due to a hosts file; clickserve.cc-dt.com is in all hosts files
i know.

What "actual URL"? Do you mean the URL of the search result? Why would
you want to copy and paste it instead of just clicking on the link in
the search results page?

Exactly. I'm guessing hosts file + incorrect Sygate setting.

Spybot S&D is not enough if you also use Internet Explorer and not just
a safe browser like Firefox or Opera. In case you also use IE, i'd
definitely install an antispyware that is actively running in the
background, and AFAIK the only free one is Windows Defender. Even if you
use Firefox, i'd occasionally scan with at least two other passive
scanners that are better than Spybot. See
http://local.nu/HelpDesk/index.php/Anti-spyware_software

Ever since i switched to Firefox and only allowed cookies from the
originating site, no spyware scan ever found anything, but then again i
never install any program without first checking to make sure it's not
spyware.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
