Hi Ed,

Intercepted how? By the various ISPs in the path, certainly, and
possibly by people in the same subnet on your connection or the
recipient's connection (if on cable, don't think it applies for dialup
or DSL), but the legality varies, and the chances are that anyone
doing it is a professional.

With web sites, any script kiddie can search for hidden pages, and if
you don't hide it well enough, it's not really hidden anyway.

If you're running your own server, probably the best way to hide the
entire site is to put it on an unusual port, instead of the default
80.

If you or the recipient is on a corporate system, privacy should be
considered non-existent.

You could use encryption to make privacy virtually certain, and also
give the files uninteresting names like 01A972F2C.DAT.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
