[pchelpers] Re: MailWasher

Hi ED

I also use MailWasher. And I agree, it may not be perfect but it sure is
better than whatever is in second place. In fact its ease of use has helped
me a lot recently.

One of the big spammers hijacked one of my real addresses. They plugged my
email address in as a place to send 'remove'. Of course, a real address is
required to keep from being labeled as spam by many ISPs. Since I have
mailwasher to use, I just started bouncing the remove requests from my
server. Eventually I was able to spot a live person via a toll free number
included. I tracked the user who had purchased the spammers service to send
email. I sent him an email warning him of what was going on and
'threatening' to turn all my evidence over to my ISP for them to pursue. Of
course there have been cases in the US recently where the government
attacked spammers with their new tool, the Patriot Act against terrorism.

I sent him an email on Friday. Yesterday I processed over 100 'remove'
requests by bouncing them. This morning there are none. Compare that to
last Sunday when I had over 100 on my server. Bottom line....MailWasher
works!

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
