Most interesting article. It looks like they are going to re-write the
landscape again with new terms that will be replaced before we learn
what they mean. I found this paragraph interesting:
Longhorn
This is the over-arching name for the next release of Windows. It will
contain various new technologies that each has its own interim name. The
names are interim monikers only, and presumably by the time it reaches
store shelves it’ll be called Windows …
Longhorn is a major change in Windows – there are few parts of the
operating system that won’t be totally revamped. To run in its entirety
you’ll need a new computer with new specifications for very secure
computing – but most people won’t need that level of compatibility from
day one. The hardware specifications for Longhorn are far from being
announced.

So they are saying get your cheque books ready. Utimately, they will
make you buy a new computer if you want to really use it.
