Laws and legal action to deal with the emergent cycle of cyber-crime in
the region are now under serious consideration among legal experts in
Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia.

Brunei, Singapore and Malaysia met and discussed in Singapore ways and
means to bolster close legal cooperation, Singapore's Deputy Prime
Minister who is also the Minister for Law, S. Jayakumar addressing the
gathering said there is a need to harmonise the substantive criminal law
to fight cyber-crime.

cyber-criminals the opportunity to carry out their activities in third
states where such conduct is not yet criminalised, the minister noted.
