[pchelpers] Lesson to be learned???????

Is there a lesson for me to learn from this?

1. I had a Linksys, 4 port Cable/DSL router.
2. My two computers, printer, TV, VCR, Lamp,
etc. were all connected to 115 volts via two surge
protectors, one plugged through the other.
3. My double electrical outlet had plugged into one
of the sockets, the two stacked surge protectors.
4. The other electrical outlet contained my router.
5. Of late, I have had to remove power from the
"late" router for five minutes after it had kicked out.
6. Saturday, I backed up approximately 15 CDs using
both computers, one for scanning labels the other
    for burning CDs.
7. On Sunday I found that the power adapter and the
"late" router would not function either together, or
    independently.

I was advised that a surge probably fried both the power
adapter and the router. Maybe the burning of CDs was a
big draw on the voltage coming through the surge suppressors,
that was matched by a huge dose from the upper 115
volt wall outlet that went directly to the router as there was
no surge suppressor between the two.

There is a good buy on my new Linksys 4 Port Cable/DSL
router at Radio Shack that ends tonight. After price reduction
and rebate, $39.00.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
