[pchelpers] Re: Laptop Heat and Vibration

Good work John. With some newsgroups you get idiotic advice which this forum
is not. One technician at Toshiba had me do a msconfig and disabled all the
operationg components in the unit. Then she expected me to get on the Web.Sge
restored.

For the second question: You have the correct model in the link. Is it
normal for a laptap to have vibration when booting up? I usually have it on
a table put tonight I was resting and had it on my lap. So after awhile I felt
warmth but on booting up there was mild vibration. Normal?

There are 2 possible ways a laptop can disperse heat.
1) Fan
2) Surface convection/conduction
The first is obvious. You will be able to detect air blowing somewhere
near the laptop just by putting your hand near it. The other is not. It
relies on using a large surface area such as the casing to distribute
the heat.
Min Operating Temperature 41 Fahrenheit
Max Operating Temperature 95 Fahrenheit

They don't mention a fan.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
