Some email programs encode/encrypt/compress email.  Outlook Express
does, as I recall, so scanning the email database wouldn't necessarily
be definitive, although, of course, it can't hurt.

Pen, I would turn on the plug-in, and yes, the heuristics is what I was
talking about.
