[pchelpers] JDBGMGR woes


As the readers of this list should know well by now, there's a hoax
going around about a so-called virus named JDBGMGR; the hoax cautions
people to look for the file and delete it and then send the message on
to others.

It seems that the alleged cure is much worse than the non-existent
disease.  People who were doing ok WITH the file did not do ok after
deleting the file.  One of my after-hours customers had trouble logging
on to MSN afterwards, which I wasn't able to really fix properly, and a
co-worker, whose computer I'll probably be looking at later this
evening, seems to be having even worse probolems; her Windows seems to
be pretty much dead now.

So, take heed and don't become one of P.T. Barnum's statistics.
