I once had that problem.
I would type in my address www.lewissaddleshop.com and another
website would show up. My address would be showing in the address line
but it wasn't my site in the window.
I found out that there was a text file that was re-directing my internet
addresses.
A long time ago when you typed in an address the browser would look in this
file to see where to find it. Even though it doesn't work that away anymore
there
still is that file on the computers. It is a blank file. Somehow my address
got into that file pointing it to the other website.
I can not remember the name of that file. Maybe someone here will.

Subject: [pchelpers] Internet problem with XPPro
Looking for Ideas. We replaced two computers in an office. The old
computers with '98 could go to www.irs.gov and in fact have to. But with
these new computers with XPPro on them we get sent to www.netidentity.com/ .
It seems to be a naming resolution thing, but we can't seem to see it. Is
there any program that you know of that is network sensitive that could have
been downloaded with a 'hichhiker'? These computers have to go to this
site, plus there is at least one other one that is getting the same error.
NOTE: I can go to the irs site if I go to something like www.jobs.irs.gov .
But when you try to get back to the main page (where the info they need it)

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
