Exhart,

There  is  no  error  messages.  After  about  24  hours  (left  notebook  on
power plug)  and  McAfee  and  iTunes  did  not  install  consecutively.   If
the  notebook  and  desktop  has  one  IP  number   wouldn't  the  Windows  OS
consider  this  reinstalling  on  the  same  PC?

It is  agreed  that  McAfee  is  not  good  so  AVG  is  on  the  notebook.
If  I  uninstall  AVG  for  bit-defender  I  may  wind  up  with  nothing.

iTunes  is  what  I  value. But  having  it  on  the  Windows  XP  Home
edition   desktop  should  be  enough.  So  it  is  a  hypothetical  dialog
on  why  iTunes  did  not  install on the Windows Vista  Home Premum notebook.

AVG just  did  a  scan  and  found  nothing   on the  notebook.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
