The manufacturer site probably has specs showing the recommended
operating range.
Two papers were put out recently, one by Google, which talk about the
effects of temperature on hard drive failure.

See page 6, the graph shows that the temperature needs to be above
45C-46C before it starts significantly affecting failure rates. This
works out to 113F-115F, which is about what you'd expect on a hot
Texas day.
