You would need an extra network port/card if you want a local area 
network (LAN) to share files across. The ideal protocol for that is 
NETBEUI. Turn file sharing on and share the desired folders/files.

Putting local file sharing on a localized protocol like NETBEUI should 
help prevent your files being exposed to the internet via browser. Try 
to avoid having NETBEUI and TCP/IP on the same network card so that 
internet and local stuff remain separate.

The plugs on the end of both types of network cable are RJ45. They are 
just wired differently for crossover and straight.
