My husband created a large 'Access' file.
It's over 2 mg so far.
I burned a copy of it and it worked fine.
He then went in and made some changes to the file, and wanted me to back it up
and burn an updated copy to cd. The first copy I made is no longer of use to
him since he made so many updates to it.
I did.
I FINALLY formatted a cd/rw cd and burned it to that. (First time getting all
that figured out.)
Well, when I go to open it, it says:
Reserved error 3034, there is no message for this error.
I click ok.
THEN I get this error:
The microsoft jet database engine cannot open the file <gives the file name>.
It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to
view it's data.
THEN I get this error.
(names the file)
Your last change may not have been saved because an internal buffer was locked
by another user (whose name was given in the previous message). *side point, I
didn't see any name mentioned in previous message.
The error continues:
To avoid losing data, wait for the other user to finish using the record then
click ok again.
If you click cancel you may lose changes that haven't been saved.
Ok, I click ok.
It now says:
Invalid database object reverence.
When I click ok, the box that came up right before this comes back, and so it
puts me in a loop with these two error messages.
I thought maybe it was because I burned this using a cd/rw that somehow that
was to blame, grin.
<that's how much "I" know about Access>.
So, I burned the same file that works fine on my pc to a one time use cd
(cd/r).
Guess what? I get the exact same error messages on that cd too.
What can I do to the original file for it to let me open it on a cd I burn? My
husband needs this file to take with him to put on another computer. He
doesn't know how to 'fix' this problem. (The file is not open by someone else
either by the way.) Hope I explained this well enough that someone can help.
