[pchelpers] Re: Help Scandisk

Cyril,

I am happy that you resolved your scandisk problems. I'm a bit curious why
your system only shows 319 Megs of Ram. Do you have 512 Mega installed? I do
not want to raise any flags but this number appears to be very odd indeed.
Just a thought.

If you do have 512 installed then you may have a bad simm chip.

John

Subject: [pchelpers] Help Scandisk

Need some suggestions on Scandisk of my C: drive. When I boot
from a floppy and run scandisk it runs clean however from Windows when I
do a start/run/type scandisk/enter it appears as though scandisk will
only go about halfway and then rescan forever always to the same spot.
All the programs in the system tray have been closed, including Anti
Virus. The screen saver is set to none so it does not interfere.
The computer is a 733 mhz Hewlett Packard with 319 Megs of
Memory, Primary drives is 30 Gigs with the C Drive partitioned to 8 gigs
and the Software is Windows ME which has worked pretty much flawlessly
for the past year and is still working fine.
My concern is that Scandisk may not work when I really need it
such as when a program locks up and I have to drop power to get back in
business.
Appreciate all suggestions.. Thanks

    Cy Halbach
