Are you sure it's spelled that way? When looking for information on the
Internet, especially about programs and viruses or other malware, it's
very important to double-check the spelling first. Otherwise you either
waste a lot of time before you find what you want or end up finding info
about the wrong thing.
Also, whenever asking for help with malware, it's important to mention
what antimalware program found it. Every manufacturer of antivirus and
other antimalware programs uses a different name for the same malware.
Since you looked for info at the McAfee site, i assume you're running
their antivirus program on your computer. Since the McAfee site's search
produces several hits for the singular Bloodhound, i assume that is the
spelling you wanted, not the plural Bloodhounds and not written in two
words (Blood Hounds).
Since McAfee however seems to list the name only as an alias for five
different viruses and doesn't use this as the "real" name for any
malware, i'm a bit confused as to whether you do have McAfee on your
computer.
The McAfee site's info is a bit confusing anyhow, partly due to the site
not being programed correctly (the bottom of the page is a mess in
Firefox) and partly due to the name Bloodhound being used by Norton in a
very strange way, as explained here (it would be better if they honestly
said "possible or unknown virus"):
http://www.f-secure.fi/v-descs/bloodh.shtml
There is no virus known by this name to our product. Bloodhound is a
generic name used by Norton Anti-Virus that it might have found an
unknown virus. Sometimes this is a false alarm, sometimes a real alarm
on a virus unknown to NAV.
This is, by the way, the first and still best Internet site for virus
and other malware info:
