Someone give the man a hip hip hooray, a pat on the back and a beer.
Good job.
That was the problem.

I had taken my Mapsend cd and dumped the contents to my hard-drive and
then install from the hard-drive.

Apparently when re-booting, the OS saw the AUTORUN.INF on the drive
and thought the Mapsend cd was loaded on the drive.
It had the Mapsend cd lable showing as if the drive was a cd-drive.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
