Then there are a few options in order of seriousness:
1) Run Spinrite on it to see if it can be repaired.
2) If not, replace the ribbon cable connected with it, and spray the 
contacts to clean them (power down). Then try again.
3) If nothing works, save the data on CD and prepare to replace the drive.
