P. S. Microsoft Word has a methodology for using subscript and superscript. I
looked it up in MS Word Help. But for the web it seems more complicated than
it should be.

Hi Scott,
The script that you gave me is correct. If someone was writing a chemistry
book take one molecular formula for a substitute sugar called Erythritol.
c(sub)4(/sub)h(sub)10(/sub)o(sub)4(/sub)
or c4h10o4 (with numerals subscript).
I know that the correct methodology is to use less than and greater than
symbols to enclosed the abbreviation for a tag. But the email may not show
this or distort it. So I conveyed the idea with parenthesis substitution.
There is a lot of repetition in this conventional methodology. Is there a text
editor that can automate repetitious tags? If a student was typing a thesis
with a lot of molecular formula there should be an easier way.
Gerald

I did a search for HTML SUBSCRIPT and that was the first match.
